Webinar Title: Exposing the Great American Deception

Date: Sunday, March 22, 2015
Teacher: Jerry Robinson

Webinar Description: As the world nears the Second Coming of Christ, many of America’s pulpits have been hijacked by extreme nationalists who want Christ followers to prop up the failed institutions of this world.

Just before Christ returns, influential Christian leaders are now urging Christ followers to “get into politics.” And many of these false teachers see nothing wrong with bombing the mission fields, even praising those who do.

In this powerful and eye-opening presentation, Bible teacher Jerry Robinson challenges those who profess Christ to weigh such logic in light of the scripture.

Is America really a “Christian” nation? Learn the stunning truth in this one hour presentation.

If I accept Jerry’s premise that we should consider the ability to find a Christian nation in America’s past the primary basis for being salt and light within the political structure in America, then maybe his case can be made. Relative standards, however, are not the Christian’s option. We have duty to work within our culture to voice moral causes. Without Christian representatives (even in our arguably non-representative government), to counter the anti-Christian effects of the dominant government/media complex, our voice diminishes. Suggesting that Christians take no active part within political circles to oppose their culture’s disdain for Christianity is to make them like their 1st century counterparts whose voices were drowned out by calls to “Free Barabbas!” Or, more recently, and from a different viewpoint, not unlike asking Israeli Jews of non-Semitic lineage if they want to move to the Ukraine because they aren’t of Jacob’s seed.

Joe, I think we actually agree on representing Christ to our culture. However, the difference may lie in our mutual understanding of what it means to be “salt and light.” Based on the context of that statement in the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5:13-16), which comes right after the beatitudes. Joe, I would contend that the act of being “salt and light” means obeying Jesus’ words in the Sermon on the Mount. This includes things like: “turn the other cheek”, “pray for your enemies”, and many other commands. I would suggest that obeying such commands, as opposed to entangling ourselves in the political machinations of this broken culture, make us “salt and light” to our culture.

So, our difference may simply be remedied by a proper understanding of that phrase.

      Blessings, JR

This hit home. Many times, since I met the LORD, I have wondered if we are just slightly off the path He laid for us (here in America). His truth IS truth, regardless of what our culture finds acceptable for Christianity. We WILL BE HATED by all people for His Name’s sake. Wonder how much hate this message invoked. We can be sure it invoked some, for it is contrary to popular beliefs in American Christianity and conforms to Jesus’ words. Is this persecution? Not tremendously… yet… Nonetheless, as true followers of Jesus, our Savior, we can count on becoming less and less popular, even with the American church, as we preach and teach HIS truth and HIS words. If they hated His truth and HIS words, they will hate ours. Indeed, we can count it all joy, for blessed are we indeed. Narrow is the road and few there be that find it. Thank you for being bold in reminding us of Who our LORD is and what He has called us to do; follow Him and fulfill the Great Commission. I not only hear you, I recognize what you are saying as His truth – and His road.
